Amanda Wehner grew up in a small city in Northeast Tennessee, nestled among the Appalachian Mountains. She earned her BS in biochemistry with minors in chemistry, psychology, and secondary science education, followed by an MS in teacher education from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. After completing her Master’s, she taught chemistry and physics in the public school system in Knoxville for four years. She then moved north to attend the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she earned her PhD in neuroscience. Amanda is excited to be back in the classroom and to share her love of science and learning with the St Andrew’s community. While not at school, she enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
