10.9.24

Dear St. Andrew’s Families,

We were very much hoping we would be able to avoid a disruption this week due to the weather.  However, with the issuance of a Tropical Storm Warning for the Savannah area and coast, and the potential for strong winds and flash flooding, we will be cancelling school on Thursday, October 10, 2024. All extracurricular activities and athletics for Wednesday, October 9 will remain as scheduled.

For Middle and Upper School, we will be shifting our Thursday schedule to Friday, October 11, 2024. Therefore, students in Grades 5-12 will begin the day on Friday with our Dress Assembly, and students should plan to wear the appropriate attire for this assembly. Lower School will run their Friday calendar and schedule as they have Science Fun Day scheduled for the morning.

Given the challenges of the last two weeks with weather, students may have work they need to complete from home on Thursday in order to continue academic progress in core courses. If you experience disruptions that prevent your child(ren) from being able to complete assigned work, please reach out to their teachers and we will work with them individually on a timeline for makeup with understanding.

Any impact to extracurricular activities and athletics will be communicated to those directly involved.

Assuming no major impacts to our area, we will plan to resume our schedule on Friday, October 11. If you receive no updates, please plan for school attendance on Friday.

We hope you stay safe through this storm, and look forward to being back on campus as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding.

Sincerely,

Kelley Waldron, Ed.D.
Head of School
