David Nash is humbled and excited by the opportunity to work with the St. Andrew’s community as the Lower School Counselor. David was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Miami in Political Science. Next, he earned an Associates degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University. After several years of working in the hospitality business, David finally found his true passion, teaching. Over the past twenty years, he has taught 2nd through 7th grade students, while earning two Masters degrees, in Elementary Education and School Counseling. For the past 18 years, David has worked in Savannah as a MS Counselor, 6th grade English Teacher, Cultural Competency Coordinator, and MS Football, Basketball, and Baseball Head Coach. David also has a passion for camp. For the past 26 years, he has served as a camper, counselor, supervisor, and Athletic Director at Camp Kweebec in Schwenksville, Pa. The lessons learned from each day of his camp experience have been translated into his daily life. David currently resides in Savannah, Georgia with his wife Mindy and their two children, L and Truman.
