Nicholas(Nick) Broom (US Math) is originally from Chattanooga. Nick earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He spent three years working for AmSouth Bank as an assistant branch manager before moving overseas. After spending four months on a mission trip in San Jose, Belize, he moved to China where he taught ESL for one year in Tianshui and Changping. He then moved to Vientiane, Laos where he spent six years teaching in the English faculty at the National University of Laos. While working at the university, he earned his Masters of Arts in Teaching from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. He spent five years teaching at the Vientiane International School, a three program IB World School, where he taught both IB Mathematics and IB Physics before moving to Savannah. In addition to teaching at St. Andrew’s, Nick is also an examiner for the IB and spends his summers traveling to Wales to write assessments for the IB Math courses. Nick is dedicated to teaching through a concept-based curriculum that encourages students to become independent and inquisitive learners. Nick is married with three children, Jonas, Deacon and Emily, all of who attend St. Andrew’s.
