Nancy Beckmann holds her BA degree in History and Sociology from Brenau College.  She began her 33 years of teaching in the Bibb County School System as a special education teacher and later moved home to Savannah where she continued as a special education educator with the Chatham County School System.  Nancy began teaching 2nd Grade at St. Andrew’s School in 1985.  She and her family have been long time supporters of St. Andrew’s in a variety of capacities.  Nancy served as PTO president prior to her employment; her son, Lee, graduated in 1994 and her daughter, Martha Ann, graduated in 1997; her grandson, Andrew, graduated in 2016; and her husband, Leo, was on the school’s Board of Trustees for many years and later served as Chairman.  St. Andrew’s has been part of her family for such a long time and she is grateful for the many memorable times, friendships and opportunities that have come along because of the close association with this wonderful school.  Nancy loves working with second graders because of their endless curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.  She appreciates their individual personalities and the positive energy they bring into the whole classroom experience.  When she is not in the classroom, Nancy enjoys being with her children and grandchildren, cooking, painting and of course, shopping.
